Geoff Gunn is a distinguished executive chef and hospitality expert with over three decades of experience, celebrated for his commitment to sustainable sourcing and profound community impact across the Pacific Northwest. Currently serving as Executive Chef at Akres on the Pier in Astoria and soon to lead Aquamarine on Broadway in Seaside since March 2025, he continues to redefine culinary excellence. Since January 2024, as the owner and leader of Arise Culinary Specialists in Astoria, he crafts tailored private events and provides consulting and training, emphasizing sustainable practices and operational efficiency to drive business growth. His volunteer role as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Clatsop County since March 2022 underscores his dedication, advocating for youth in the court system and offering vital support during challenging times.

Geoff’s career shines with leadership in sustainable sourcing. At Bridgewater Bistro in Astoria (2014–2017, 2020–2023), he partnered with local organic farmers, fishermen, and foragers to source tailored ingredients, establishing an on-site garden that supplied fresh produce, seafood, and wild-foraged goods daily. This effort fueled a 50% business increase, earning the region’s first 5-star rating. His tenure also included helming beloved local icons like Pacific Way Café and the Wayfarer Restaurant and Lounge. As Corporate Chef at Bear Claw Organics/Willapa Wild (2023), he managed an oyster farm and remodeled a restaurant, deepening his expertise in sustainable aquaculture and its ecological benefits. At Lumberyard Rotisserie and Grill in Cannon Beach (2005–2013), he served over 1,000 guests daily with a menu rooted in local, sustainable ingredients, showcasing his consistent focus on environmentally conscious cuisine.

Among his accolades, Geoff earned the NWRESD Partners in Education Award for his educational contributions and was nominated for Chef Mentor of the Year by ProStart Oregon and Volunteer Citizen of the Year in Tillamook, OR, highlighting his mentorship and community service. For 17 years, he has organized, hosted, and emceed the Iron Chef Goes Coastal event, raising significant funds for the United Way of Clatsop County. A Western Culinary Institute (Le Cordon Bleu) graduate with a 4.0 GPA, Magna Cum Laude honors, and Valedictorian status (2001–2002), Geoff seamlessly blends formal training with a passion for sustainable cuisine and community enrichment.
